About Admete

She was one of the daughters of Eurystheus and Atimache, it was said that the task of fetching the Golden Girdle of the Amazon Queen, set by her father for Heracles, was to be a gift for her. Admete signifies, unbroken, untamed, by which we may assume, she was a virgin and headstrong, thus the girdle which was a type of chastity belt would seem a suitable gift.
