The Descendants of Adam and the Secrets of the Zodiac: Leo

[ Home ] [ The Descendants of Adam ]

[Aquarius] [Pisces] [Aries] [Taurus] [Gemini] [Cancer] [Leo] [Virgo] [Libra] [Scorpio] [Sagittarius] [Capricorn]

Judah, thou art he whom thy brothers
Shall praise you
Thine hand will be on the neck
of your enemies;
Thy father's children
shall bow down before you.
Judah is lion's whelp:
From the prey, my son,
Thou art gone up:
He stooped down,
he couched as a lion,
And as an old lion;
who shall rouse him up.
The scepter shall not depart from Judah,
nor the lawgiver
from between his feet,
until Shiloh come; and unto him
Shall the gathering of the people be.
(Until the one to whom the scepter Belongs.)
Binding his foal unto the vine,
And his ass's colt unto the choice vine;
He washed his garments in wine,
And his clothes in the blood of grapes:
His eyes shall be red with wine,
and his teeth white as milk.
Jacob

The Sons of Jacob and Sacred Astrology: Judah (Leo)

[ plate 12, part zodiac, showing the lawgiver, the horses foal being tied-led to the branch, and ass' colt before a vine. And Shiloh in Scorpio, etc.]

[ Oddly once again we find that although in this case more is said about Judah, almost half of the blessing is devoted to the one to whom certain things BELONG; and the things that belong to him so far are, the Thummim and the Urim, the Scepter.]

Judah is allotted to Leo, what other sign has a lion in it, technically in astrology terms, the fathers of any zodiac sign, are those signs which precedes it, i.e. Taurus, is the father of Gemini, who in turn fathers Cancer who in turn fathers of Leo. But the sun reaches its highest elevation in Leo, So, all the other signs would be seen to bow down to Leo.

[for a more technical briefing on the movement of the Sun through Leo, I would refer you to 'Oedipus Judaicus' by Sir W. Drummond. Page 13 to 19.]

A. We are told the Scepter or lawgiver will not depart from Judah until 'Shiloh' or him to whom it belongs comes, and the gathering of the people or nations will be his. Shiloh, signifies, sent, or, sent one. Thus, we may discern a reference to the Messiah figure. And as Sir Drummond points out, the constellation of Cepheus, king of Ethiopia, was and still is depicted wearing a crown and holding a scepter. I find him depicted in several of my collection of Egyptian planispheres and later usually high in Taurus near Draco.

But in general, I am inclined to think that as Cepheus leaves the sun as the sun enters Scorpio, and the station of Hercules, who is to bring an end to the Suns growing power; that it is with regard to this, for is not Hercules sent, to perform his labours. Besides which there is certainly a star in Scorpio named Shiloh. [ in the Geneva Bible, I find the Reformers, who add commentary notes in the margins, say Shiloh refers to the Christ. While as I have already stated, the word signifies sent, or sent one, I wonder how they came to such a conclusion? For it does not refer to the one who supposedly came and went 2000 years ago.]

Next, we find Judah binding his foal, and ass's colt to a vine. And in the first decan of Leo, Sir Drummond found a horse and ass's head depicted, and I found them also in an Egyptian planisphere, although this is probably from the Greek era. [see plate 12.]

Anyway, it is the power of the sun in Leo which ripens the fruit and grapes and turns the corn white. Which explains why Judah might be said to wash his garments etc. in wine.

Moses also gives a somewhat odd
blessing on Judah,
Hear, O Lord, the voice of Judah;
Bring him unto his people,
Let his hands be sufficient for him;
And be thou a help to him from his enemies.

So, let us consider Judah's own story.

Judah story has been a hotbed of contention over the years. One author devoted a whole book on the subject, it was called 'The Harlot by the Roadside', if I remember rightly, but it is not worth the paper it is written on.

Nevertheless, if we consider that Hercules traveled -went down from his station, we already should know that Judah also moves about, for as a young lion he already went up to attack Samson, then came down again.

We are told, that at that time Judah went down from, that is left separated from his brothers. And he apparently went to stay with a man of Adullam named Hiran. Now the word 'Adullam', certainly signifies 'equinox', the 2 times in the year when day and night are of equal length. So, from the longest day of the year Judah -the sun, is lowering, coming down.

Then we are told, that he met the daughter of a Canaanite [Autumn], she was called Shuah, or Shua in the NIV. But these are but variants of SHUAL, which is taken to be, wolf, jackal, dog or even fox. Centaurus is depicted slaying the wolf or fox. We would already know if you have read my work on the story of Noah, that Canaan, was stationed in Scorpio and signified Autumn.

Anyway, Judah goes with Shauh and she produces 3 children, Er, Onan and Shelah, and that they were, or she was at Kezib, when she bore the later.

'Er ' signifies, watch- enemy. Onan, = power, iniquity. Shelah, signifies, that breaks, that units, undresses.

They would seem very unlikely names for 3 boys. In the lists of the first descendants of Adam, we find. Enoch [Leo- Judah] was the father of Irad [Cancer], that Cancer fathered Gemini and Gemini, fathered Virgo [Methusheal-Methuselah]. I suspect we have the same situation with Judah. Now we are told that Judah's wife, Shua-h-l, was in Kezib when she bore Shelah. I associate all words beginning with K, as signifying something to do with Taurus, [Kenan, and Kent are both titles relating to Taurus. However, Keziz, according' to Drummond relates to the tropics, thus Cancer or Capricorn?] but most words with a Z, signify the later part of the year, I thus suspect that the fox-Shaul was on the border of Taurus which rises in Scorpio. thus,

Judah, -Enoch- Leo fathered
Er - Irad - Cancer, fathered
Onan - Mehujael -Gemini; fathered
Shelah -Methusheal -and Virgo.

And Shelah, is after all a female name, more than enough reason for Judah, not to allow her to marry, Er's and Onan's widow Tamar. Furthermore, if the fox is slain in Scorpio, it must have risen around Taurus-Gemini.

So, then Judah begot a wife for his firstborn Er, but he died. Then he ordered Onan his second child to take Er's place. But he spilled his seed, knowing any child would not be reckoned as his. But the Lord slew him for his iniquity. But Judah was afraid that if he gave Shelah to Tamar, he might also die, so he sent Tamar to her father's to wait till he was grown up.

Then in her time Judah wife, Shaul, died. And after Judah was comforted, he went with Hiran of Adullam, up to his sheep-shearers in Timnath. [The very place Samson had come down to get his wife.]

Tamar was told of this and realizing Judah had no intention of giving her his son Shelah in marriage; she took off her clothes of mourning and placed a veil on her head so That Judah would not recognize her, and sat down at the entrance of Enaim, which was on the road to Timnath.

When Judah saw her, he thought she was a prostitute and promised to send her a young goat for her favours. But she demanded a pledge, a deposit for her wares. She asked for his SEAL with its Cord and his STAFF.

The business ended, Judah returned home and sent his friend Hiran with the young goat. But he could not find her and returned to Judah.

So, one might rightly say, that the Scepter, and the rulers staff had departed from between Judah's feet.

Judah was upset but what could he do. But about 3 months later he was informed that Tamar, his daughter in law had prostituted herself and was pregnant. He sent for her, intending to have her burned to death; but she sent his seal and staff before her and when Judah saw them, he said,

She has been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not Shelah my son.

And Judah left her alone. When the time came she gave birth to twin boys, as the first put out his hand the midwife tied a scarlet thread to it, but he withdrew his hand, and the other emerged first, and she said, AHow has thou broken forth? This breach be upon thee: therefore, he was named Pharez- Perez. After his brother emerged with the scarlet thread still attached and he was called Zarah-Zerah.

It seems as far as the children of Tamar are concerned we have a similar situation, to the birth of Esua and Jacob, with a slight twist. Esua, who was red and hairy came out first, but Jacob came out right behind him grasping his brothers heel. Here we find Zarah -Zerah putting out his hand and a red thread being tied to it. But somehow Perez- Pharez bursts out first. Jacob steals Esau birthright and blessings after birth, Perez steals his brother's rights by getting past him and leaving the womb first. One can only guess at what is going through Moses, the authors mind; did Perez pull Zerah back into the womb and thus overtake him.

It matters not, the effect and the results are the same.

Esua, is no different in meaning than Canaan, Autumn and thus Scorpio. And Zarah, Zerah, and Zoreah are merely a play on the same word, they all signify, Leprosy or the Scorpion; or they can also signify a wasp or hornet, or any insect with a sting in its tail. Thus, Perez or Pharez, signify Taurus.

Whenever you see the word Phar, at the beginning of a word, it should remind you of Pharaoh, and all Pharaoh's believed they were the living image of the sun god. The title means more than anything, 'the Far- Seeing Eye' of the sun god. That is why the Greeks called their great wonder of the world, Pharos, it was a lighthouse, whose bright eye could be seen and see far; thus, guide ships to safety. The Sun could give life, revive life as well as end it; that is why you have Pharmacies. And some say the Jewish religion was borrowed from the Egyptians, perhaps that is why they had Pharisees? And long ago, Phar was sounded like F, and that is how you came to farm, for you cannot farm if you don't, have a clock, and the sun is the clock of the seasons, and the constellations its hands. Without the sun how FAR could you see?

And despite Moses efforts, even the Jews, still acted as if the agricultural year ran from Taurus to Scorpio.

Even Jesus the Lamb of Sacrifice, who should be termed a ram, failed, to stop the worship of the Bull.

So, Judah was never a living person, merely a name given to the Sun in Leo. But the Scorpion has hidden in its tale, the greatest sting of all.
