About Geb

Geb was the title given to the Earth in its primal stages of birth, by the ancient Egyptians. Before any form of life began. He was perceived as the twin brother of Ra, the Sun, but being born second, and because the Word had given all its blessings to Ra, there were none left for him. His mother Nut having pleaded with his father, the Word, was unable to secure any blessing for him. So, the Earth, Geb was left alone in the darkness, kicking in his own blood. But his mother Nut, dismayed, wrapped herself tightly around him, as any mother would do for her child seeing him so distressed, and comforted him as best she could.
