About Ceryx

He was not a person but the personification of the authority of truth, although he was pretended to be the son of Hermes via Herse, he was the Caduceus that belonged to Hermes, the staff on which two snakes were entwined upon with their heads facing inwards. It was a token- badge of authority similar to the axe wrapped in a bundle of twigs the Roman judges had carried before them.
