About Pheres

A son of Cretheus and Tyro, and brother of Amythaon, and Aeolia. After his half-brother, Pelias, seized the throne of Aeolus the ancient name of Thessaly. Pheres was banished by Pelias and fled from Iolcus and founded a city of Pherae, where he married Periclymene, daughter of Minyas, and they had several children including Admetus, Lycurgus, Idomene- Eidomene (wife of Amythaon or Bias?) and Periopis.
