About Chimaera

Was a child of Typhon and Echidne, but I reality she was the personification of the three-season year, Spring the goat, Summer the Lion, and serpent of winter. She plays a small role in the blinding of Dapnis [laurel], a son of Hermes, who wed a nymph called Nomia, who made him swear an oath of fedility, which if he broke, she said she would blind him. Chimaera got him drunk and seduced him; and Nomia [grazer] duely blinded him, Dapnis did not lament his loss for long as Hermes turned him to stone.
