She was one of the daughters of Erechtheus and Praxithea, she had six sisters, Procris, Merope, Chthonia, Creusa, Protogeneia, and Pandora, and four brothers, Cecrops, Metion, Orneus and Pandorus. Orithyia was forcefully abducted by the north wind Boreas, she became the goddess of the cold mountain winds, her union with Boreas produced, Chione (snow queen) Cleopatra, and the twins Calais and Zetes.
