Nostradamus Century 9, Verse 43

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, what have we here? said Noddy to Big Ears.

I am absolutely gutted that some French person has not pointed out the absurdity of the translations rendered by the Authors on Nostra's works.

I see,

'Proche a` descender l'armee Crucigere,
Sera guettee par les Ismaelites,
De tous coste batus par nef Raviere,
Prompt assaillis de dix galeres eslites.

EL. JH. & MR. have rendered 'guett/ee' as 'ambushed'? 'Guett/e: m. /ee: f. watched, warded; also, pried or spied on, observed, watched.

While a battle is about to take place, the sentence does not say that the Ismaelites attacked the Cross.html">Crusaders, it reads,

On all sides battered, by the ship Raviere, [ravie-ravished] (which may have begun the assault, which was promptly assisted in the assault by 10 elite ships.)

To presume, assume without proof is not wisdom, or knowledge.

[ apparently Big Ears said to Noddy that it was MR Turnip head, that translated the verse for him. Raviere= plot-bed for turnips.]

"near to where the tormented army disembarks
They will be ambushed by the Ismaelites
They are beaten on all sides by beetroot coloured boats?
And promptly attacked by ten chosen galleys." MR.

I am lost for words,

How amazing is the ability of this man, surely he can turn water into fine wine and make the blind see, with a wave of his hand, the legless will walk, and women will no longer have period pains. With a single word, he can raise the dead, and with a few loaves feed the world, will his miracles ever end?

Beetroot coloured boats, don't you just love it?

'crucigere'. Cross bearers; or an order of friars that wear crosses on their habits.

'Raviere', a plot or bed for turnips. However, the word is only rendered that way to rhyme with crucig-ere, 'ravi' was the intended word, =ravished or suddenly or forcibly taken away.

Nostradamus Century 8, Verse 91

To enter through the fields of Rodanes
Where the Crosses will almost be united,
The two branches in (even) worse opposition than before,
And a great number punished by floods.

Much confusion amongst the Authors on this one. The word I render worse, in line 3= 'pises' =worse, worst. All 3 have 'Pisces?'. The word I have rendered Branches, from 'brassieres.' EL has Mars and Venus; JH, has 'leading strings', with Mars and Venus in brackets; and MR. has 'jackets?' and the first word in line one is 'Parmi' among; through, in the thick of. But JH-MR, have Frymy? I have no idea what goes on in their minds.

Nostradamus Century 3, Verse 20

Through the countries of the great river Bethique.
Far into Iberia to the realm of Grenada
Crosses repulsed by those of Mohammed,
one of Cordube- Cordova will betray his country.

Nostradamus Century 3, Verse 61

The great troop and sect of Cross.html">Crusaders,
Will make ready in Mesopotamia;
The light brigade near the river,
That such law will hold for the enemy.

[couldn't resist it, the original has 'compagnie legere']

Nostradamus Century 3, Verse 47

The old monarch chased out of his realm,
Will journey to the East to seek help,
In fear of the Crosses he will fold his banner,
To Mytilene to travel by port and land.

Nostradamus Century 5, Verse 16

At its even higher price the tears Sabee? [incense- resin- or, Sabeans, Yemenese,]
Used to burn human being to death,
The Isle of Pharos, vexed by the Cross.html">Crusaders,
When at Rhodes will appear two spectres. [ghost, menacing mental image, phantom?]

All 3 Authors have 'dur' line 4, I see deux, in original?

Nostradamus Century 3, Verse 77

During the 3rd climate under the influence of Aries,
In the year 1727, in October,
The king of Persia captured by those of Egypt:
conflict, death, losses: to the Cross great reproaches.

Nostradamus Century 6, Verse 80

From Fez the realm will reach those of Europe,
their city on fire and blades cut,
The great one of Asia by land and sea with a great force,
So, that the blues and the Persians, the Cross to death will chase.

From Morocco.

Nostradamus Century 8, Verse 90

When one of the crosses- Cross.html">Crusaders will be found with his senses troubled,
In the place of the holy one will see horned cattle,
Through the virgin pig its place then will be filled, [defiled]
The king will maintain order even less.

Nostradamus Century 8, Verse 13

The Cross.html">Crusader (croise) brother through unbridled love,
Will cause Bellerophon to die through Proetus,
Fleet to-of milans- hawks, the women gone mad,
The potion drunk the pair of the perish.

In the Greek myth, the wife of Proetus, having fallen instantly in love with Bellerophon, attempts to seduce him. But when he rejects he advances, she flies into a rage and tells her husband that Bellerophon tried to molest her and demands Proetus kills him. Proetus fearing to do the deed himself, sends him on a mission to another king, with a letter asking him to dispose of Bellerophon, which he attempts by sending him on numerous deadly tasks. The same mythical story line appears over and over: as in the story of Joseph and Potiphar in Egypt in Genesis of the OT. Phaedra and Hippolytus, Cretheis and Peleus, and Phylonome and Tenes, amongst the many Greek myths.

It seems in this case the plot backfires, the lady of the Cross.html">Crusaders desire goes mad and poisons them both.

Nostradamus Century 9, Verse 62

To the great one of Cheramon Agora,
The Cross.html">Crusaders (crosses) will be attacked by ranks,
The pertinax (Latin= tenacious, perservering, steadfast; stubborn) oppi (opium) and Mandragora, (Mandrake),
Raugon, they will be released on 3rd October.

Nostradamus Presage 30

Their protests will be in vain, the failing ones trussed up,
The Shaven heads captured, the pempotan elected;
The 2 Reds and 4 true Crusaders of the cross to fail,
Rains a hindrance to the all-powerful Monarch.
