Nostradamus Century 8, Verse 81

The new Empire in desolation,
Will be changed by those of the northern Pole,
From Sicily, will come disturbance,
To vex the enterprise (emprise). Tributaire. Taxing? Or his contributor, as 'to vex Philip and his backer?

Nostradamus Century 9, Verse 89

For 7years fortune will make Philip prosper,
He will beat back the efforts of the Arabs:
Then at his peak a perplexing contrary business,
The young Ogmois will sink his fort.

Sink? It would be easy enough to simply render it, destroy his fort, or stronghold but the word used is Abismera, from Abysme= engulfed, thrown into, or swallowed, by a whirlpool or bottomless pit; considering such events are described in other verses it is important to show the difference.

Nostradamus Century 9, Verse 30

At the port of Pula and St Nicolas,
The Normans to perish in the gulf of Kuarner, (Quarnero); cap.
Of Byzantium beaten cries woe,
Help from Cadiz and the pricking great Philip.
